影片讲述了万香山脚有个黑顶子村，村里住着谢家三兄弟。某年冬天特别寒冷，谢老二违背了祖训，偷偷进山采参，谁知回来后就神秘死去。村中人都认为谢老二是因为触怒了山神，“山神降下了诅咒”才离奇死亡……。百星酒店是一所位于杭州千岛湖的五星级豪华酒店，可惜员工水平只值四星。总公司遂派不茍言笑的高管人员古黛进行改革，员工们苦不堪言且乌龙百出，但逐渐有所改进，终达至五星级水平，期间并促成多对美满姻缘 。。three distant and diverse existences caught in a same tension: the search for their own identity and the sense of ''being'' in a present of continuous transformation.
